Mount Shasta to Montague  
35 miles
Views of Mount Shasta.  All backroads
Could be easily made longer or combined with Day 2 and just go directly to Dorris.
Day 2Montague to McDoel (?)
48 milesSome riding on 97 which means big trucks.  Pretty good shoulder on 97.
Checked - no motel in MacDoel which means would need to go to Dorris about 25 miles more on 97.
Day 3McDoel to Tulelake 
 69 milesLava Beds is very cool.  Could spend time going in some of the caves.
Almost all backroads riding.  Some of the road from MacDoel to Lava Beds may be dirt.
Day 4Tulelake to Crater Lake80 milesLong day and some busier roads.  Crater Lake is beautiful and the ride around the lake is great. 
Could spend two nights in Crater Lake to do the round the lake ride one day and take the boat ride to the island.  Reservations at hotel on lake are difficult and expensive.  May want to stay outside.
Day 5Crater Lake to Butte Falls 
52 milesFrom what I dimly remember there is a long excellent downhill.
 
Day 6Butte Falls to Ashland
59 milesAshland is very cool city.  Lots of good restaurants. 
Could take in a Shakespeare play if there during the summer festival.
Day 7 Ashland to Mount Shasta75 miles Have not ridden from Ashland to Yreka so don't know the backroads google recommends.  Siskiyou summit is about 3000' of climbing out of Ashland.
