Good book on hikes in Lassen and Mount Shasta area. Get it if you are planning to do a lot of hiking in the area.
| Probably the best single book for the average person coming to Mount Shasta. Info on hiking, biking, skiing, car touring, and general info. Also, Robin does guided tours and loves being on the mountain.

Good book to have if you are going to summit the mountain.
| Older, out-of-print version of the book to the left. I included in case you want to buy a second-hand one inexpensively. This is the one I bought a few years back.
| A great book on the lore and history of Mount Shasta. This is good reading around the campfire or for those wanting fun and interesting facts about Mouint Shasta. Guides will want this to use for entertaining clients with stories, myths and fun facts.

If you are planning to summit Mount Shasta using the traditional John Muir route or otherwise known as Avalanche (Avy) Gulch, then get this book. Even if you are going on a guided tour, it is a great reference book so you have some idea about the route and why your guides are taking you on the specific route they happen to use.
