Bike Tour Around Mount Sh
There is lots of good riding around Mount Shasta.  You can road ride, mountain bike (downhill and xcountry), and do combo road and dirt road riding if you have wider tires on your road bike.  Many good rides are listed here at this website.
This is one of the most scenic rides if you have a road bike with tires wider than 30 mm.  The ride starts in Mount Shasta and goes up to the PCT and down by Castle Crags State Park.  Fabulous views though it does require about 3 miles on I5 towards the end.

Classic local climbs
1.  Up-To-The-Old SkiBowl.  Just follow Everitt Memorial Highway from downtown up to its end.  This road goes up Mount Shasta and is about 20 mile each way from downtown.  Grade is about 6%.  Great views and descent.

2.  Castle Lake.  Another out and back and is about 12 miles each way from downtown.  Excellent view of Mount Shasta and Castle Lake is beautiful.

3.  Stewart Springs Rd/Parks Creek Summit is out of the Weed/Edgewood area off Old Stage Rd.  This is a beast of a climb.  The road is not well maintained.  You get a sense of adventure if your riding is cityfied.  The climb from Old Stage Rd to the top is about 14 miles and 3800' of climbing.  You end up on the backside of Mount Eddy.
